Nancy Heaton – President
Nancy Heaton, a born and raised Austinite, is a new to the construction world. She is married to Ted Heaton, who works in the insurance industry. Together, Ted and Nancy have two daughters, Meredythe and Margaret. In her free time, Nancy enjoys cheering on our University of Texas Longhorns. Many evenings you can spot her circling the Hike and Bike Trail or attending live music shows at Austin City Limits, while she spends her days antique shopping around the greater Austin area.
Skip Sandell - Construction Manager
Mr. Sandell brings over 30 years of construction and management experience to D2 Excavating. His vast project experience married with his extensive knowledge of soils, concrete, rebar and underground utilities is one reason why Mr. Sandell excels at keeping projects on schedule, on budget and problem free. He has a passion for building relationships with clients and has accumulated an extensive customer base over the years. Mr. Sandell has worked on numerous government facilities and military bases across the United States. Mr. Sandell is a South Texas native that has enjoyed traveling the country with his wife, Shannon and two daughters. Skip enjoys football and deep sea fishing. Mr. Sandell believes in two simple principals of business. One is to never over promise and under deliver to anyone, from the payables side to projection of the time line of a project, to the equipment operator. Two is, you are only as strong as your weakest link. Make sure you build your team on a solid

Mike Vetter – Project Manager
Michael Vetter comes to D2 Excavating from North Dakota. Mr. Vetter studied at Austin Community College to earn a degree in Construction Project Management. Michael is very eager to dominate the estimation aspect in order to get his hands dirty and move on to project management. For now you can usually find Michael scouring the internet looking for the next project. Michael’s free time is spent listening to live music and drinking German beer.
